What is Hyperledger Fabric?
Hyperledger Fabric implements an open source framework for private and authorized corporate networks, where members’ identities and roles are known to other members. It is designed as the basis for the development of solutions with a modular architecture. It allows plug-and-play of elements such as General Laser Database, Concepts Mechanism, and Membership Services. It uses container technology and provides enterprise-friendly security, scalability and network privacy.
A Hyperledger Fabric network has these components. An asset is anything that has value. An asset has state and ownership. Assets are represented in Hyperledger Fabric as a collection of key-value pairs. The shared ledger stored and records the state and ownership of an asset. The ledger consists of two components. Hyperledger Fabric smart contracts are called chaincode. Chaincode is software that defines assets and related transactions; in other words, it contains the business logic of the system. Chaincode is invoked when a build applications need to interact with the ledger. Chaincode can be written in programming language like Golang or Node.js.
