Cisco ASA firewall basics

In the course, you will learn all that is required to install and configure a brand new Cisco ASA firewall with outbound Internet access. You will learn all the commands necessary to install the firewall.

In the first part of the course, you will understand what basic elements are needed to install the firewall. For each step, I will explain the reason, how it works and what to think about when setting up Cisco ASA. This includes:

Access to the console
Interface configurations
Theory of access lists and how to apply them.
Restrict and provide management access.
Network Address Translation (NAT)
DHCP in Cisco ASA
Hardware models available.

In the second part of the course, we will configure a Cisco ASA 5505 together, from no configuration at all to filtered and NAT Internet access: ed with DHCP and access lists.
