This course is for anyone who wants to start learning simulation modeling using Anylogic. You will learn about discrete event simulation as well as agent-based simulation. The course will start from the basics and allow you to tackle real business problems using simulation techniques. We will be using the Java programming language in Anylogic. The course will also cover 2D and 3D animation, GIS integration, pedestrian simulation, connection to DB and Excel files.
Discrete-Events and Agent-Based simulations with AnyLogic
This course has been developed for people who have little or no knowledge of JAVA and simulation modeling and for people who have used other simulation software and want to learn a new one from scratch. In this course, you will learn how to develop simulation models using AnyLogic, with discrete, agent-based event paradigms and the combination of the two as multi-method simulations. You will learn the vast majority of the tools needed to model advanced scenarios to solve complex business questions. After the introduction of JAVA, the course gets quite deep quite quickly with homework that is not easy to complete. This is to stimulate this new capacity in your brain and accelerate your progress.
This course will also teach you the basics of JAVA, of course not to become a JAVA expert, but to be able to master its basic tools in order to be a standalone JAVA developer. This is a good starting point for learning any programming language later. This course also covers databases with SQL API, Excel API, GIS integration and many more that use the powerful AnyLogic software to create amazing 3D animation models, generate statistics and a representation of data through different types of graphs and plots. By the end of the course, you will be able to simulate a complex system across many different industries, including warehouses, supply chain networks, manufacturing facilities, interactions between people, and others. You will be able to generate the logical structure of this system and transform it into beautiful 3D animations.
