Autodesk Revit – beginner to an intermediate level
When you complete this course, you will have the skills and knowledge to lead a project from start to finish using the tools and library provided by Autodesk. You will first download and install the process to make sure the software has been installed correctly. Throughout this course I will be using the 2018 metric version in conjunction with the UK Component Library. If you are using the Imperial version and / or another regional library, don’t worry. All the steps and processes will be the same. Like with BIM, you only work on one project, so I built this course the same way. We will model a single project throughout the course.
If you are new to Revit or any other CAD software, don’t worry. I’m going to start from the start by building yourself up to be more than able to create your own Revit models. The course will start with the basics; from terminology used by Revit to tools and interface. We will then start to develop our project, introducing a new tool and a new functionality as we progress. Addition of reference elements; such as levels and grids. Structural components; such as structural and architectural columns. Major and minor components such as; walls, windows, doors, floors, stairs, ceilings, curtain walls and roofs.
Then we’ll take it to the next level and learn how to create 2D details, label components, create schedules and captions, create render images and video presentations. Finally, we will install our sheets and send them to print. In addition to the videos, you have lecture notes to follow as well as files to work with. When we complete this course, you will have the skills and knowledge to lead a project from start to finish using the tools and library provided by Autodesk.

Learn to program the Revit API by Boost Your BIM
In this course, you will learn how to write Revit API code in the C # language to perform a wide variety of tasks. This course is for people who want to do more with Autodesk Revit construction information modeling software. You can do a lot of good things with Revit because it comes “out of the box” from Autodesk, but there are still many repetitive, boring, and error-prone tasks. There are also many situations in which you can be more efficient and productive if you can add additional functionality to Revit.
This course will cover a wide range of topics in the Revit API. Each topic will be taught by walking through a set of C # code examples that progress from basic concepts to more advanced concepts. More content will be added to this new course in the coming weeks. If you see a topic you like added let me know and I’ll try to make that addition.
