Lean Leadership Skills, Lean Culture & Lean Management
This course now includes two comprehensive ebooks, Getting to Lean and Team Kata, over 670 pages of case studies, exercises and illustrations.
Mastering lean leadership and lean culture is essential to your success as a manager and to the success of your business. There are two main principles of lean: respect for people and continuous improvement. This course, based on years of field experience, shows you how to implement both principles in your organization. Lean eliminates waste and the disciplined method of maximizing value for customers. It’s about creating a culture that brings out the best in all employees. If you do this … you will be successful as a leader in your organization!
The instructor has been engaged in the implementation of lean culture and leadership for more than forty years, working with companies like Honda, Toyota, Shell Oil Company, Corning, Merck and dozens of others. This course is based on his field-tested working knowledge of lean culture and leadership. The course introduces the history of lean, essential principles and practices, and important functions of the lean leader. It also introduces the two critical paths of Lean Implementation: first, redesigning processes, systems and structure to create the foundation that enables teams to engage in continuous improvement; second, it introduces the essential habits of teams and team leaders engaged in problem solving and continuous improvement.
You will learn:
It’s all about leadership – you will know how to lead a change process in your organization.

Essential Lean Manufacturing for Management Consultants
Essential Lean Manufacturing for Management Consultants
This course will help you dramatically improve your knowledge and skills in optimizing the production and operations of any business through a series of practical cases. It is designed for people who want to become consultants, business analysts or who have to manage and optimize production on a daily basis. In the course, you will learn 3 things:
How to understand production or operational activities
How to optimize production and operations in order to do more things, cheaper with higher quality with fewer resources using elements from lean manufacturing, theoretical constraints
Where to look for savings and improvements, how to calculate potential savings in Excel and implement them
I will focus here on lean manufacturing techniques as well as on things related to the theory of constraints (removal of bottlenecks and critical chain).
The course is based on my 12 years of experience as a consultant in the largest consulting firms and as a board member responsible for strategy, improvement and turnarounds in the largest companies in the world. FMCG, SMG, B2B sector for which I worked. On numerous occasions, I had to optimize the entire production and operational side of the companies for which I was responsible. Based on what you will find in this course, I have trained over 100 consultants, business analysts and managers who are now production directors, operational directors, COOs, investment directors, directors of consulting companies, members of the board of directors, etc. courses on Udemy have already been taken by more than 45,000 students. The course you will take has also been attended by folks at EY, Walmart, Booz Allen Hamilton, Dell, Walgreens, and more as part of Udemy for Business.
I teach through cases, so most lectures are case studies showing business issues resolved in Excel. There will also be an overview of the main techniques used to optimize and manage production. With each lecture you will find attached (in additional resources) the Excels presented in the lecture, so as part of this course you will also get a library of ready-made analyzes which can, with some modifications, be applied by you in your work. .
Why did I decide to create this course?
Most consultants and business analysts are very good at organizing operational issues. They treat operations, especially production, like a black box and try to avoid it at all costs. Technical things overwhelm them and they hesitate. This approach is not the right one because you can find elements everywhere that look like the production. In hospitals, most of the procedures performed are very similar to production issues. The same goes for managing a call center, a restaurant chain, a logistics company or a specialist service company. Everywhere you have operations that you can optimize using techniques that I will demonstrate in this course. Production strongly influences other areas, especially sales and marketing. Therefore, it is a good idea to have at least general knowledge of production. The funny thing is, to be good at production you don’t even have to be technical at all. I did not complete any technical school and am quite good at finding significant improvements in production. One of the best production managers I know has completed his education studies.
To sum up, I think if you want to build or find improvements in a business, you need to master the techniques related to optimizing production. This is why I highly recommend this course not only to consultants or business analysts who need to advise their client but also to owners, founders of companies as well as to production managers.
How will you benefit from this course?
The course is a practical, step-by-step guide filled with analysis, tips, and advice that will dramatically improve the speed at which you research and analyze production. There is little theory – mostly examples, a lot of advice from my own experience as well as other notable examples that are worth mentioning. Our intention is that through the course you will know:
How to understand production
How to optimize it
Where to look for savings and improved production
How to calculate the impact of proposed changes in Excel
